The popularisation of some scientific subjects is often made with explanatory video cartoons of the instruments and products displayed in the museum, but for a non-expert public the exclusively educational video can be monotonous and not very effective in transmitting the message. In some cases it is more interesting to opt for a hybrid solution, which maintains the popularisation function but uses more evocative procedures.
The Paleopatologia video, made for the Museo di Storia della Medicina dell’Università La Sapienza in Rome, arose out of the montage of some extracts of films held at the museum, accompanied by brief descriptions and simple keywords that evocatively describe the importance of this discipline for studying the history and development of some pathologies. The rhythm plays a fundamental role in always holding the attention, through perfect synchronisation of the syncopated music and changing movement of the pictures.
