The project of upgrading the entire complex is aimed at the economic profitability of some workshops next to the early twentieth-century gentleman’s villa in which the family producing a quality liqueur lived. The old, now outmoded buildings were restored in successive steps and integrated with plant and layout suited to their use as management offices and largely as open space for co-working by companies with a high technological content and at the forefront of high-tech research. The irregularity of the adjacent buildings was resolved by a continuous facade in bent sheet laid vertically and leaning towards the square in front so as to streamline and reorder the different bored holes and harmonise the parts. This work was in clear contrast to the decorated surfaces of the Art Nouveau villa and constitute a wing to it that highlights its architectural qualities. The elegant finishes of the villa were restored to accommodate a quality bistro for top grade cultural activities related to the nearby university. Expertly selected and positioned vintage furnishings adorn the large rooms intended for use as tea room, relaxation area, reading room and tasting and cultural events room.
