Castello Porto Colleoni, Thiene (VI)
Castletime, a serious game designed explicitly for the web and conceived for the Porto-Colleoni castle in Thiene (Vicenza), one of the most notable buildings of Veneto Gothic architecture, may be considered the first element in a wider project, capable of bringing about the construction of a (digital, but not only) network able to increase sharing and relational activities and provide an intensification of the visit on site.
Intended particularly for primary school students, it was created with the aim of integrating the experience of visiting the Castello di Thiene, with developments intended to stimulate the students’ creativity and participation and encourage sharing of the acquired knowledge. The theme of water, chosen as the common thread of the game’s pathway, provides the pretext for touching on various thematic spheres linked to local production activities, to history, to ecological and natural aspects, and to the development and transformation of the land, in a constant dialogue between past and present.
A drop of water accompanies players on their explorative journey and introduces them to the various tests to be faced, by means of a map of the castle and its surrounds, which allows access to the various levels of the game.
Once the pathway has been completed, it is possible to download work sheets to be coloured in, completed, photographed and uploaded onto the net. All the works are visualised and shared in a gallery created specifically for Castletime.
