A quiet residential area opens up between the church of the Madonna della Salute and the Guggenheim Museum: a ‘buen retiro’ much coveted by wealthy foreign investors because of the prestigious buildings, luxuriant gardens and the width of some ‘calli’ that recall more the boulevards of Paris than the city centre of Venice. The facade of a typical Venetian palazzetto presents a fine, round-arched, triple window and balcony on the first floor, corresponding to the entrance hall, and leads to an apartment that retains all the characteristics of the typical Venetian piano nobile, thanks to careful work upgrading the existing rooms. The layout of the large rooms with precious Venetian terrazzo floor has been mainly retained, apart from the inevitable addition of technical spaces (bathrooms and storerooms). The owner took an active part in all stages of the design and work, assisted by the studio in the choice of finishes and furnishings. The arrangement of precious antique furniture and the choice of bright colours for the walls and furnishing fabrics reflect the tastes of the owner, who wanted to recreate a corner of Paris in the heart of Venice.
